Life is not a ladder. No one stands on a higher rung than us. If we are occupied with what our purpose is we won’t worry about what other people are doing. If we notice another brother or sister suffering it is an opportunity for us to commiserate and not celebrate, for nothing remains the same. Events are cyclical.
