We have to separate those who are an asset in our lives from those who are a liability in our lives. People tend to do what works for them. We have to look out for ourselves, and shed the weight that is weighing us down. We can’t expect people to be empathetic or reciprocal towards us because some people either don’t have the capacity to do so, or they are callous, pernicious and parasitical. We have to adjudicate on our own behalf.
