If we believe we have to trade our values and self worth in other to gain the affections or acceptance of others our path forward will be littered with disappointments and regret.   Life is a short sojourn, today we are here, tomorrow deceased.   We ought to be invested in ourselves always.  There is no redo.  This life is all we have.
