What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

Living a long life is inconsequential if all we do is drift with the flow. Parlaying others does not endorse their naivety, it show cases our immaturity. If all we see and desire is mammon how can living a long life be beneficial to us and all other living entities, including sentient beings? We have to separate longevity from living whilst being a ghost.
