The world is full of expansionistic pundits, we are bombarded with pictures showcasing what success looks like, a life full of lucre and excesses. We are shamed into believing that that lifestyle can soon become ours if we work hard enough. Work doesn’t bring access to riches. Human resource is most essential to harvesting mines, working the fields, manning offices etc, etc. Without garnering Human Resources by wars, kidnappings, imprisonment, or trafficking, wealth becomes an illusion. Extraction of free labour has afforded great wealth. History and statistics teaches us all we need to know about the accumulation of wealth.
