Feeling powerless is very demoralizing.   It’s knowing what the fix is but realizing you are stymied and therefore unable to change the situation.   The human psyche is vulnerable.  We all feel pain, and joy.  Demoralizing others does not increase our influence and power, it diminishes it.  We are Gods unto ourselves and no one else.
